ABOUT BILL

The partners at Dufford Waldeck announce the retirement of Bill Frey effective August 31, 2018. Bill moved with his family to the Seattle area in January of this year, and in Bill’s typically organized fashion, he started winding down his practice and ensuring a smooth transition for his on-going clients.
Bill has stated that “I practice inevitable law: I deal with death and taxes.” He has provided steadfast and practical advice in those two vital areas of law for 39 years. Bill spent his entire legal career here at Dufford Waldeck, guiding his clients through some of life’s most difficult situations, managing much of the day-to-day business of the Firm, and mentoring younger lawyers.
Bill is known for his generosity and dedication to his community. Bill believed in the importance of passing on our knowledge to the next generation and his activities outside of the office reflect that sentiment through his teaching, writing, and volunteering. He continues that spirit of volunteerism in his new community.
Annie Murphy and Barbara Butler have assumed responsibility for taking care of Bill’s clients. They note that "Bill has been a rock here at the firm and in our community. He is already genuinely missed. We now have the privilege of continuing to try to walk in Bill’s shoes and are committed to his tradition of providing outstanding legal services to our clients.”
We wish Bill all the best in his retirement and hope for many happy times with his family, grandchildren, and at the occasional soccer game.
