Litigation/Trials/Appeals
The son of a career U.S. Air Force officer, Laird was born in California, but grew up everywhere. "We landed in Grand Junction in 1972," he says. "My wife is from Grand Junction, and this is a great place."
Handling personal injury and professional liability cases, Laird's clients are primarily individuals. "With these types of cases, I develop closer client relationships than lawyers working primarily with businesses might," he says. "I enjoy representing and working for people, individuals who need help."
In describing DWMK, Laird says, "The culture differs from law firm to law firm. This firm is very close. It's always been a very collegial group of people. We have a lot of different personalities, but there's mutual respect for each other."
Laird and his wife have two grown daughters. One is raising her family here. The other is a lawyer in California.
