Growing up in Chicago and on Long Island, Richard first visited Colorado as a skier in his teens. After law school in Boulder and a year practicing law in Denver, he was looking for a smaller town to settle in when a friend convinced him Grand Junction was the place. He joined DWMK in 1977 and became a partner in 1980.
Rich's clients range from large developers, lenders and landlords to first time buyers and FSBO sellers. "Every deal is interesting. I especially enjoy making workable, understandable documents for complex transactions and really appreciate having the support from the other lawyers in the firm to meet my clients' different needs."
Richard was a professional soccer referee for 17 years, officiating high school, college, semi-pro, and professional games. He and his wife have two children — one son, one daughter — both of whom are engineers.
